We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistant - Special Needs for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2026. The Role
Suitable applicants will work with groups of high need students and should be able to apply techniques, skills, and knowledge relevant to the principles and practices in an Education Support setting. Experience working with high needs students is highly desirable.
Suitable applicants will ideally display effective communication, computer literacy and interpersonal skills to work closely with teachers, to assist in the delivery of planned education programs, teach small groups, and encourage a supportive and inclusive learning environment. It is highly regarded that suitable applicants have expertise in working with children with behaviour difficulties, trauma backgrounds, and intellectual disabilities. Additionally, a background in an Education Support setting, and experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), and Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communications Handicapped Children (TEACCH) strategies would be highly advantageous.
We are seeking adaptable individuals who display the ability to work independently, as well as in a team. You will ideally possess cultural awareness and be focused on delivering programs to individuals and groups, including those students with complex needs and diagnosed disabilities.
Suitable applicants should possess a deep commitment to developing positive and productive relationships, embedding a proactive, inclusive, and respectful approach. They will ideally be open to ongoing learning and development.

- Demonstrated effective organisational skills that will assist in the delivery of effective education programs and subsequent feedback and evaluation to teachers or psychologists.
- Demonstrated ability to assist with the general health and well being of students.
