This is a permanent full-time position commencing ASAP

The School Curriculum and Standards Division provides administrative and secretariat services for, and implements the decisions of, the Authority. The Authority provides quality curriculum, assessment and standards to enable all students studying the Western Australian curriculum to become confident, creative learners and active, informed citizens who contribute positively to society.

The Authority has been licensing overseas school to implement the Western Australian curriculum under its International Education Program (IEP) for more than 38 years. The Authority is undertaking an expansion of its IEP in accordance with the State’s international education strategy and is currently working with schools across the globe to deliver the Western Australian curriculum.

The Role

The Authority is seeking to appoint staff with expertise in the Western Australian curriculum and assessment to support ongoing delivery and expansion of the IEP. The role contributes to business development activities through engagement with prospective schools and associates and supports overseas schools in the expression of interest (EOI) and approval processes.

The position works closely with international school leaders to support the effective implementation of the Western Australian Curriculum and connected programs, while contributing to business development initiatives in new and emerging markets. This includes participation in market engagement activities, assessment of prospective schools, provision of advice on compliance and quality assurance requirements, coordination of professional learning and information sessions, and ongoing liaison through school visits, consultation and feedback to support continuous improvement.

The Principal Consultant undertakes complex project and program work and provides high-level reports, correspondence and briefings, working collaboratively across the Authority to support consistent and high-quality curriculum delivery in international contexts.

Expertise in the implementation of curriculum and assessment programs in complex or international contexts is highly regarded. Demonstrated capability in supporting school leadership with the delivery of the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE), including General and ATAR courses, and the application of the Activities Schedule within approval and quality assurance processes will be a key consideration in the selection process.

The successful applicant must be willing and able to undertake occasional international or interstate travel, as the need arises.
