
We are seeking to establish a pool of Library Officers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role
As an experienced Library Officer, you will manage the day-to-day operations of the school library, ensuring it is an organised, welcoming and engaging environment that supports student learning. You will oversee circulation, shelving and resource processing, administer the library management system, and ensure records and collections are accurate, current and easily accessible.
Customer service is central to this role. You will provide friendly, professional support to students, staff, families and the leadership team, assisting with the selection and use of age-appropriate and curriculum-aligned resources. You will support students to develop confidence and independence in using the library while maintaining positive library behaviours and an inclusive atmosphere.
Working collaboratively with staff, you will contribute to a vibrant library culture by supporting engaging displays, literacy initiatives and library activities that promote a love of reading. A genuine enthusiasm for books and children’s literature, along with a sound understanding of library systems and processes, is highly desirable.
You will also assist with collection development by supporting stocktakes, monitoring the library budget and contributing to recommendations for new resources that align with student needs, curriculum priorities and reading interests.
