South Bunbury Education Support Centre (ESC) is a specialist setting which caters to the needs of students with a diagnoses of Intellectual Disability or Autism Spectrum Disorder with high educational need.

Staff at South Bunbury ESC have a holistic view of education. We aim to support students to be their best in all areas of development through individualised support and implementation of programs to support academic, sensory, and social-emotional needs.

South Bunbury ESC is a proud Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) school. Our strong PBS philosophy centres around our three PBS values, 'Be Safe', 'Be Your Best', and 'Be Kind and Caring'. Students are supported to learn and practise these values through explicit teaching of the associated expected behaviours. The Role

Teachers at South Bunbury ESC assess using an integrated curriculum, differentiated to meet individual student needs. Suitable applicants will ideally have highly effective teaching practices, an ability to self-reflect and a willingness to seek constant improvement in their own practice. We are seeking applicants who are ideally hardworking and knowledgeable about a range of disabilities and the implementation of strategies to support and enhance individual development in all areas.

The successful applicant will ideally use explicit teaching strategies and exhibit effective classroom management skills to enhance student learning and wellbeing. Applicants should be flexible, have strong interpersonal and communication skills, a commitment to professional learning, and a high-level of participation in collaborative team planning.

Teachers in an Education Support environment positively manage a team of Education Assistants to create a safe and supportive learning environment for students. They engage with and contribute to the school community and work collaboratively with families, therapists, and outside agencies to improve student outcomes.
