We are seeking to establish a pool of Deputy Principals for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Located in Margaret River, Rapids Landing Primary School (PS) first opened in January 2018. The school caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. The school is committed to developing a culture of ‘High Care and Performance’ by engaging, consulting and working collaboratively with the school community to provide a learning environment that is positive and underpinned by a strong set of values. Our School Vision is 'creating excellence together'.

The Role

Rapids Landing PS is seeking a professional, enthusiastic and relationship focused Deputy Principal to work collaboratively with the Principal and whole school community to strengthen a contemporary and distinctive school with a child focused identity.

The successful applicant will ideally provide educational leadership focused on improving student outcomes and will support the principal in the development and implementation of the school’s Strategic and Operational Plans. As an instructional leader, the Deputy Principal should foster the professional growth of staff and lead whole-school initiatives. A deep understanding of the Western Australian curriculum and a commitment to current, evidence-based teaching practices is highly regarded. Leading staff in implementing data-informed approaches and innovative practice, including ensuring the diverse learning needs of all students are met, is also highly valued.

To be considered for a leadership position at Rapids Landing PS, applicants should ideally display excellent communication and skills, and an ability to coach, mentor and lead staff and students. Working collaboratively with staff, parents and students to manage student behaviour and assist with student wellbeing based on a positive, educative and restorative mindset is highly desirable.
