
This is a 3 month fixed term, part-time (0.8 FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2026 with possible extension.

The Role
As a Special Needs Education Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of planned education programs. This will include managing small groups of students under the direction of the teacher that will help in the development of young minds and support the general health and wellbeing of students. You will work in a collaborative environment to provide support for students in the classroom.
The successful applicant will ideally be caring, proactive, and responsive, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, as well as possess good written and oral communication skills to enable the implementation of individual or small group-based programs. Education Assistants work alongside teachers to ensure the implementation of the school business plan and priorities using the agreed programs and strategies.

- Demonstrated good organisational skills that will assist in the delivery and development of effective education programs to students and subsequent feedback to teaching professionals or psychologists.
- Demonstrated ability to assist teachers or therapists in implementing educational programs, including special education and, should this be a requirement of the position, occupational and/or physiotherapy programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
- Demonstrated ability to assist with general health and well-being of students.
