The Role

Are you an experienced enthusiastic and curious accounting professional looking for a senior level opportunity in financial policy to further your career?

A great opportunity exists to join a vibrant and enthusiastic team of accounting professionals.

This diverse senior level financial policy position presents an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified accounting professional to lead and contribute towards great outcomes for the Department of Education.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to lead development and improvements to financial management policies and procedures for central services and schools.

You will develop, review and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legislation whilst ensuring that developments are properly evaluated, implemented and maintained. As well as undertaking research on complex matters at a state and national level and provide analysis and interpretation in the area of financial policy.

Our ideal candidate will have extensive experience and knowledge across a range of areas including the Australian equivalents to International Financial Reporting Standards, Financial Management Act 2006, Financial Regulations, Treasurer’s Instructions and other related legislation.

You will have well developed interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships.

    4. Demonstrated highly developed written communication skills, including experience in preparing reports, briefing papers and responses to Senior Executive and/or Ministerial/Parliamentary requests.
    5. Demonstrated highly developed analytical and conceptual skills to provide innovative solutions to complex problems.
