The Payroll Services Branch is part of the Business and Customer Services Directorate. Payroll Services process changes to, and the maintenance of, employee pay, leave, superannuation and salary packaging records to enable accurate and timely payments to Departmental employees. Payroll Services provides services to 75,000 plus employees in WA public schools, central office, and regional education offices.
The Role
As Operations Manager, Payroll Services, you will lead the development, implementation and evaluation of strategic policies, guidelines and procedures for Payroll Operations and the Contact Centre. You will ensure quality assurance of all payroll and contact centre transactions in line with Public Sector Standards, legislation and departmental policies.
You will oversee the review and improvement of payroll processes, systems and procedures, prepare performance reports, and undertake research, analysis and planning for strategic initiatives, projects and policy frameworks.
The role provides high-level advice to the Manager and senior officers to support informed decision-making. It also includes preparing complex correspondence and briefings, including Ministerials, parliamentary questions, information briefs and reports.
As part of the Payroll Services leadership team, you will contribute to overall branch management and lead operational business systems strategies across multiple BCS functions to meet quality, cost and timeliness standards set in Service Level Agreements. You will also provide direction, support and guidance to Payroll Operations and Contact Centre teams and contribute to broader BCS strategies and initiatives.
