We are seeking to establish a pool of Deputy Principals for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Anne Hamersley Primary School (PS) is an Independent Public School catering for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. The Role

The Deputy Principal supports the Principal in providing strong educational leadership to ensure high-quality teaching and learning outcomes for all students. The role involves leading and supporting whole-school improvement initiatives aligned to the school’s Business Plan and Department of Education strategic directions, with a clear focus on curriculum implementation, consistency of practice, and continuous improvement.

The Deputy Principal provides curriculum leadership by supporting the planning, delivery, and review of teaching and learning programs across the school. This includes promoting evidence-based instructional practices, supporting assessment and moderation processes, and leading the effective use of student performance data to inform teaching, target interventions, and evaluate the impact of school improvement strategies.

The Deputy Principal plays a key role in promoting positive student wellbeing, behaviour, and inclusive education practices. This includes supporting proactive approaches to student engagement, overseeing aspects of behaviour and attendance, and working collaboratively with staff, families, and external agencies to meet the diverse learning and wellbeing needs of students.

The role includes leading and supporting staff through effective coaching, mentoring, and performance development processes. The Deputy Principal contributes to building staff capability through collaborative professional learning structures and supports a positive, respectful, and high-performing workplace culture.

The Deputy Principal contributes to the strategic and operational management of the school, including workforce planning, timetabling, and day-to-day organisation. The role supports the development, implementation, and review of whole-school plans, ensures systematic data collection and analysis to monitor progress against targets, and maintains alignment with Department of Education policies, procedures, and accountability requirements.

Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills are highly desirable, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the wider community. The Deputy Principal works as a collaborative member of the school leadership team and acts for the Principal as required.
