We are seeking to establish a pool of Special Needs Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role
Suitable applicants will support the Department’s main objective of teaching and learning of students through assisting teachers in delivering planned education programs and encouraging a supportive and inclusive learning environment. At times, you may be required to share knowledge of school procedures, policies, and learning programs with families and the wider community.
Suitable applicants are encouraged to grow and stay up to date with current strategies, research and technologies that enhance their work. Experience or knowledge of Trauma Informed Practice, mental health, autism, and intellectual disability is highly valued, as is training in Team Teach and the ability to provide safe, positive handling of students when required. In addition, an ability to support students in offsite programs (eg. Workplace Learning and Volunteering) is highly regarded.
