The Role
We are seeking a motivated, innovative, and strategic leader to join our Leadership Team as Program Coordinator – Vocational Pathways. The successful applicant would advance the college's vision to be a learning community that has a supportive and inclusive culture and provides experiences which enable every student to achieve their personal success
The Program Coordinator – Vocational Pathways would be responsible for leading the Pathways Team. This team includes the Career Practitioner, Coordinator Student Achievement, and Workplace Learning Support Officer. With a strong commitment to staff development, the Program Coordinator will support and mentor staff to build capacity and promote best practice, ensuring continuous professional improvement and team effectiveness.
This role ideally requires strong knowledge of Vocational Education and Training (VET), further education and training pathways, Career Learning, School Curriculum & Standards Authority (SCSA) requirements, and Departmental systems. The ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a whole college setting as a member of the Leadership Team is highly desirable, including working with Head of Learning Areas (HOLAs) to manage the ongoing professional learning and accountability of VET staff. Working collaboratively to embed career learning and pathway opportunities from Years 7 to 12 is an important aspect of this role.
The successful applicant will ideally have exemplary interpersonal skills and use effective change management strategies to lead the College community to reflect on practices and data to improve student outcomes. They would build and maintain strategic partnerships with industry, educational institutions, and community organisations, representing the college to enhance opportunities and program visibility.
The college has a dedicated Trade Training Centre (TTC) for students pursuing a career in the plumbing and gas fitting, painting and decorating, and building and construction trades. The Program Coordinator - Vocational Pathways has a lead role in the management of the TTC and developing partnerships which maximise opportunities for students.
As a member of the college’s Leadership Team, the successful applicant would provide advice and guidance to the Executive Team regarding enhancement of strategic and operational aspects relevant to this portfolio. They would be expected to translate the college’s priorities outlined in the Business Plan into a responsive and improvement focussed Operational Plan in this portfolio of responsibility.
This role may include a teaching component.
