We are seeking to establish a pool of Gardener - Handyperson for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Middle Swan Primary School (PS) has been an Independent Public School since 2011. It is a large, well-resourced and equipped school, catering for approximately 350 students enrolled from Kindergarten to Year 6. The school population is drawn mainly from Stratton and the nearby suburbs of Jane Brook and Middle Swan.

The school is effectively supported by a Child and Parent Centre that compliments school programs with additional services to better meet the needs of the school community. A dedicated group of parents participate in the School Board and assist in classrooms and on excursions.

The Role

The Gardener - Handyperson is responsible for maintaining the school grounds in a safe and tidy condition, ensuring a safe external learning environment for students and staff. This includes overseeing the upkeep of turf areas, garden beds, shrubs, trees, and various soft landscapes. Additionally, the role involves maintaining hard landscaping features like courts and paving, marking sports areas, and conducting minor repairs in alignment with departmental policies. Suitable applicants are also required to keep gardening facilities, equipment, tools, and machinery in a clean and serviceable condition, reporting faults promptly, and adhering to safe work practices.
