The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and collaborative individual who is ideally committed to working effectively as part of a team and who strives to connect and inspire with staff, students, and the wider school community. The successful applicant will ideally possess excellent interpersonal skills and be relationship focused with the expectation that they are able to take on course leadership responsibilities. Building positive relationships with students, staff and the community are important components of the role. You should ideally have a strong evidence-based approach to teaching, are reflective in assessing the effectiveness of your teaching practice to support professional growth and be able to display how your pedagogy has actively resulted in improved outcomes and progression for your students.
The successful applicant should ideally be an expert, passionate teacher of Design and Technology with a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. They should display an excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and experience in developing and delivering the curriculum using a wide range of teaching models. Qualifications and experience in teaching any of the following subjects will be highly desirable: Design and Technology courses such as Materials, Mechanical and/or Mechatronics; General Engineering; General Woodwork; Certificate II in Construction Pathways, or Automotive.
The successful applicant would be inclusive in their practice and be able to cultivate a safe and accountable learning environment for students in varying ability levels across Year 7-12. The successful applicant will ideally be proficient in motivating and engaging students through their relevant and meaningful learning programs and be able to display the effective use of information and communication technologies in the teaching of Design and Technologies.
