WA Health is on an
exciting journey of transformation. Do you have the skills we need
to be part of the WA Electronic Medical Record Program
team?
Electronic Medical
Record (EMR) Program
EMR is a consumer-centred
program that supports healthcare providers to perform their roles
enabling safety and quality to be at the heart of care for every
consumer.
This Program has been
established to digitally transform WA Health’s clinical information
management systems by delivering a Statewide EMR solution for WA
Health. The EMR is identified in the WA Health Digital Strategy
2020-2030 as the digital keystone to modernising and improving
healthcare across Western Australia.
The EMR Program will
incorporate changes to technology, business processes and culture.
It will take advantage of innovations in digital health care to
improve patient safety and quality of care for the Western
Australian community regardless of their location.
About the
role
We are looking for
an experienced and motivated Clinical Director to join our diverse
and highly skilled team in contributing to the health of all
Western Australians.
This is a fixed term
appointment for 2 years, from the date of commencement,
with the possibility of extension(s).
As a member of the
leadership team, this position is responsible for strategic
oversight and coordination of all clinical aspects of the Program,
ensuring it adheres to regulatory and ethical standards with a
focus on patient care quality. The Clinical Director’s role
involves setting and implementing clinical policies, being
responsible for implementing clinical protocols, overseeing
clinical harmonisation and ultimately, ensuring that the Program is
clinically led so that the EMR meets the current and future WA
consumer and health system needs. The Clinical Director is
effectively the senior user and will ensure deliverables meet the
standards required by clinical users / the business.
As this
position has a dual classification, the appointment
will either be made under the Health
Services Union Industrial Agreement
2024 if the successful candidate is from
a non-medical background or the Australian
Medical Association Industrial Agreement
2024 if the successful candidate is from a
medical background, to ensure they can maintain currency with
their professional discipline.
There is currently 1 FTE (HSO) or 0.5 FTE (AMA) available for
appointment.
Note: The HSO position will
initially be established with Health Support Services as the
employing authority; however, the position will report to the
Department of Health (DoH) EMR Program Leadership. In the future,
this position may undergo a review for reestablishment within the
DoH and be reclassified against the Public Sector Award at the
equivalent level.
