We are seeking to establish a pool of Special Needs – Education Assistant (EA) for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
The Beldon Education Support Centre (ESC) is a specialised primary school situated in the land of the Whaduk Nyoongar people, who have a rich history spanning at least 45,000 years. It operates independently but collaborates closely with Beldon Primary School.
Unlike traditional schools with catchment areas, Beldon ESC accepts students from neighbouring suburbs, and transportation assistance is available through the School Bus Service. The school's philosophy revolves around creating a nurturing, sensory-rich learning environment that encourages a child's sense of discovery, and confidence building, and supports self-expression and an excitement

The Role
We are seeking friendly and energetic Special Needs EA to join our team.
Suitable applicants would work under limited supervision and may be expected to participate within a team situation, offering advice and expertise relating to their relevant area. Part of the role includes designing and implementing behaviour management plans in consultation with teachers, parents and Psychologist in Charge. In-addition, suitable applicants would ensure that the learning environment is inclusive and relevant by maintaining classroom resources.
Suitable applicants will ideally be exceptionally well organised, team focussed, committed, and have proven ability to work with students with diverse special needs. You will ideally possess a range of skills to assist teachers in the delivery of effective teaching and learning programs, which can include experience in Applied Behaviour Analysis, TEACCH, Direct Instruction, Key Word Sign or Auslan, Alternative Augmentative Communication (AAC) and preventative strategies to manage challenging student behaviour.

- Demonstrated ability to assist professionals in the implementation and evaluation of education programs, including special education and, if required, occupational and/or physiotherapy programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
- Demonstrated effective organisational skills that will assist in the delivery of effective education programs and subsequent feedback and evaluation to teachers or psychologists.
- Demonstrated ability to assist with the general health and well-being of students.
