This is a 12 month fixed term, part-time (0.2 FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2026

Situated in the heart of the Avon Valley, on Noongar Country, Brookton District High School (DHS) has been serving our community since 1903. Our appeal as a school rests in our strong sense of community, the values we celebrate and the commitment to realising the potential of all students in our care.

Brookton DHS team is based on good community people who work collaboratively on the needs of all students in Brookton. The school has an excellent blend of experienced and graduate teachers who drive the teaching and learning schedule of the school. We have a great team of Special Needs and Mainstream Education Assistants who support classroom teachers in various areas.

The Role

As a member of our team, you will ideally be a conscientious, flexible and innovative teacher who is committed to the development of the whole student. The successful applicant will ideally be actively involved both within the school and wider community, highly reflective of teaching practices and committed to evidence-based decision making and differentiation.

The successful applicant should be motivated, able to teach secondary Technologies - Beauty, and knowledgeable about the Western Australian Curriculum. As a Technologies - Beauty teacher, you will deliver a differentiated curriculum which meets the needs of all students and have an expectation that all students can reach their potential. You should be a teacher who aspires for academic excellence and is committed to high quality teaching and learning.

All our secondary classes are multi-age group classes so you will need to adapt the curriculum accorodringly.

You will ideally possess strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills which will be used to develop and promote the school’s values, ethos and priorities across the school community. You should build positive relationships with students and be passionate about creating positive futures for students.

Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.

The temporary ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.
