The Role
Kelmscott SHS is a supportive learning community committed to the philosophy of “one student at a time in a community of learners.” Through the Big Picture Education learning design, we empower students to pursue their interests and passions while developing academic excellence, social skills, resilience, and well-being. Our approach includes internships with expert mentors, interest- based projects, and opportunities for certificate courses, ensuring students are well prepared for the life beyond school.
We are seeking a range of applicants, including primary and secondary trained teachers with diverse skills. The successful applicant will design individual learning plans, support students in developing extended projects, and prepare them for exhibitions of their work. The position involves working as a Big Picture Advisory teacher within a small, supportive community within the school. The successful applicant will work closely with this group each day. Students in Advisory are expected to grow into respectful, caring and productive members of the group. The advisory teacher plays a central role in guiding this development. The Advisory teachers' responsibilities may include teaching, inspiring, building strong relationships, and managing learning.
