About the Branch
Education Business Services is the key provider of professional business services and support for Western Australian public schools, statutory boards and divisions of the Department. These highly valued services are delivered through the areas of finance, information and communication technologies (ICT), and infrastructure. About the Job
As a key part of our Department’s senior leadership team, the Chief Information Officer guides the vision, leadership and governance of the ICT strategy, architecture and execution. The Chief Information Officer is responsible for leading, planning, directing, controlling and implementing the ICT strategies and services of the Department to support the organisation’s overall operations and priorities aligned with strategic direction. The position provides functional leadership, policy development and planning for ICT including cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, digitalisation, online integrated service delivery, risk management and supporting the implementation of strategic projects and systems.

The Ideal Applicant
Effective communication and adaptive interpersonal skills will support you in guiding culture, establishing relationships within and external to the Department, meaningfully contributing to committees and working parties and effectively collaborating, influencing and supporting the work of the Department.
Your depth of knowledge and understanding in contemporary corporate ICT needs will enable you to provide high level expert advice for informed decision-making by the Minister, Director General, and Deputy Director General.
Your experience in leading transformational change and building the capacity and capability of other’s will contribute to ongoing strategic development and delivery of highly professional, customer oriented, innovative and future-focused ICT capability.
