The Role

Gilmore College is seeking a proactive, dedicated, and enthusiastic Head of Learning Area (HoLA) – to join our Senior Leadership Team.

As the HoLA – Technologies, you will work with an outstanding and collegiate team to develop a culture of high-quality teaching practices in Design & Technology, Home Economics and Digital Technologies, and be able to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of these three learning areas. You will evaluate teaching practice effectiveness, develop a high performing and collegiate team, and manage a significant budget. Through embedding our CMS, PBS and Whole School Instructional Model, the successful applicant should create authentic learning environments which cater to student diversity, interests and needs.

The successful applicant will ideally possess excellent interpersonal skills and promote effective and distributed leadership within the learning area. They should promote and foster academic aspiration and engagement in an environment where achievement is celebrated. Collaborating with your team, you will implement whole school policies, processes, and procedures, embedding a culture of professional leadership, trust, and continuous improvement for all our students and staff.

The successful applicant will ideally be a proactive and enthusiastic educator who is passionate and highly effective in leading improvement. Making data-based decisions, the successful applicant should have the ability to think and plan strategically and identify innovative and practical solutions to challenges whilst working collaboratively to create improve student outcomes, leading with a growth mindset.

As a culturally responsive practitioner, you should create and sustain a student-centred learning environment built on strong relationships, working collaboratively to implement strategies to meet the diverse needs of students and their families.
