Newdegate Primary School (PS) is located in the Great Southern agricultural region of Western Australia (WA), approximately 400 km south-east of Perth. We are a small school with enrolments fluctuating from 40 to 45 children. Our students benefit from specialised teachers with expertise in the areas of Music, Science, Visual Arts, Languages Other Than English (LOTE) - Indonesian and Physical Education. Up to date class resources complement our skilled and professional teachers and include E-Boards in every classroom, laptops for each child, digital cameras, iPads and a printer in each room.

The Role
We are a supportive and enthusiastic rural school participating in the Country Teaching Program, with three multi-age classrooms and a welcoming community. Our school offers intensive support for new teachers and a collaborative, positive team environment. We are looking for a kind and committed educator who genuinely cares about the progress and well-being of every individual student and works respectfully and effectively with Education Assistants and colleagues.
The successful applicant should be enthusiastic, motivated, and skilled educators, committed to improving literacy and numeracy outcomes for every child, every day. This is achieved through our whole-school approaches, explicit teaching, and evidence-based instructional strategies. Experience with multi-age classrooms is highly valued.
It is highly desirable that the successful applicant has experience, familiarity with or a willingness to learn how to implement effectively, programs such as Talk for Writing, 7 Steps to Writing, Letters and Sounds, Spelling Mastery, MultiLit intervention programs, and Maths Trek.
The successful applicant should possess a strong capacity to collaboratively plan and deliver challenging, engaging learning programs aligned with the WA Curriculum. Fostering positive, respectful relationships with students, families, colleagues, and the broader community is a key part of this role.
