At Paraburdoo Primary School (PS), our purpose is to ensure every child is provided with every opportunity every day to develop the skills and knowledge they need to become resilient, well balanced and successful individuals who contribute positively to society throughout their lives.

Paraburdoo PS caters for approximately 200 students from Kindergarten to Year 6 in the Shire of Ashburton. The Role

Paraburdoo PS is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Internal Relief Teacher to support high-quality teaching and learning across Kindergarten to Year 6 (K-6). This role requires someone who is prepared to step into any classroom at a moment’s notice, with the ability to pivot, adapt to change and respond quickly to the needs of the school.

We are looking for a warm, flexible and proactive educator who brings a deep repertoire of phase-of-learning knowledge, ensuring engaging and relevant lessons across all primary year levels. The successful applicant will ideally demonstrate strong communication skills, authentic connections with students and colleagues, and the confidence to deliver purposeful, well-structured learning aligned with our whole-school Explicit Direct Instruction approach.

A trauma-informed mindset and the capacity to apply positive behaviour management strategies across different age groups are essential. The ability to create calm, consistent and supportive learning environments, regardless of the context, will be highly valued.

With Scaling Up Success and The Resilience Project commencing in 2026, this position will also contribute to building strong routines and uplifting learning environments that support academic achievement and wellbeing. Familiarity with Spelling Mastery, University of Florida Literacy Institute (UFLI), Top Ten Mathematics and Positive Behaviour Support is desirable, with coaching and professional learning provided.

As an integral member of our team, you will also contribute to the positive, collaborative and community-focused culture that defines Paraburdoo PS. We value staff who engage collegially, participate in whole-school events and contribute to creating a strong sense of connection and belonging. Your willingness to be involved, support shared initiatives and uphold our collective commitment to a vibrant and inclusive school environment will be highly regarded.

Join the Paraburdoo Crew, where we nurture and inspire every child to sparkle.
