We are seeking to establish a pool of Vice Principals for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Warwick Senior High School (SHS) is a modern and progressive secondary school located in the northern suburbs of Perth. Ideally situated, it is a school with a strong tradition of academic excellence together with a caring and supportive environment where students are given every opportunity to be successful in their chosen pathways.

Students typically come from the local primary schools, as well as schools outside of boundary. Students are attracted to Warwick SHS because of the special academic, arts and sporting programs offered, particularly, the Academic Extension Program and the specialist Netball and Australian Rules Football programs. There is also a very strong STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) program which extends and challenges students in all of the above areas.

The Role

This is an outstanding opportunity for a visionary and strategic educational leader to contribute to one of Western Australia’s most dynamic and community focused public secondary schools. As Vice Principal of Warwick SHS, you should play a central role in shaping the school’s future through strategic leadership, systems thinking, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Working in close partnership with the Principal and Leadership Team, you will lead initiatives aligned with the school’s Business Plan, particularly in strengthening instructional leadership, while displaying effective leadership across all key focus areas. You may relieve in the Principal’s role when required and support whole school planning, resource allocation, and strategic decision making to foster a high performing, inclusive, and future focused school culture.

Your portfolio should encompass strategic workforce planning, curriculum innovation, performance management and development, policy implementation, compliance, and system enhancement. You will ideally lead the strategic alignment and optimisation of key operational systems, including Compass, Integris-SIS, SSO, RAMS and HRMIS; to support high quality teaching and learning across a diverse student population. Strong knowledge of timetabling is highly desirable, as you will plan and manage a complex and evolving schedule that supports curriculum delivery, resource use, and student pathways. You should also coordinate key committees and lead recruitment, professional learning, and workforce selection processes, ensuring compliance with mandatory training and registration requirements to maintain a safe, supportive, and well functioning school environment.

You should model and embed the conditions that underpin high quality teaching at all career stages, while coaching and mentoring a team of highly effective leaders. With a commitment to student success, engagement, and wellbeing, you should support the development of enriching curricular and co-curricular programs that respond to student needs and community aspirations. Many of these initiatives occur outside regular school hours, and your leadership will be key in implementing, supporting, and attending these activities.

A crucial element of the role is the ability to evaluate evidence and lead collaborative cycles of school review to ensure effective delivery of curriculum and associated programs. You would be responsible for analysing and reporting on the Measures of Success outlined in the Business Plan, using data to drive sustained improvement across all focus areas. In doing so, you should build the capacity of leaders and staff to analyse performance, respond to student needs, and contribute to a thriving school community where every student is known, supported, challenged, and inspired to achieve their best.
