This is a 3 month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2026 with possible extension and/or permanency

At Kojonup District High School (DHS) we have a proud history and have served our community since 1863. Located on the Albany Highway between Perth and Albany, our 220 students have the added bonus of a 480-acre school farm close by.

All year levels love to visit the farm, and it forms an integral part of our students' learning journey whilst at the school. Sustainability and pathway planning programs are influenced by our farm environment, as are waste-wise practices, animal husbandry and paddock to plate understandings.

Growth through Learning is our vision at Kojonup DHS and it is embedded in everything that we do. At our school, we ensure that every student's academic, social and emotional growth is our priority. Students from Kindergarten to Year 10 work in an environment that nurtures them to achieve their personal best.

The Role

Kojonup DHS is looking for a passionate and committed Deputy Principal to join our experienced team of educators.

In collaboration with the Principal and other members of the administrative team, the Deputy Principal provides educational leadership in the school and community by developing and promoting the school vision, Growth through Learning and encouraging school staff, parents and community members to share ownership of this vision and school priorities. The Deputy Principal contributes to the development and implementation of the school business plan through participative decision making, including the implementation of strategic plan priorities, incorporating the development of policy, establishing and maintaining operational systems and cost centre management. A key aspect of the role includes facilitating workforce effectiveness and performance management of staff.

Suitable applicants will ideally be future focussed thinkers who will lead the school improvement agenda in areas of strategic intent in order to achieve school vision. Applicants who are highly data literate and able to drive data review processes and continuous improvement planning will be highly regarded. 

Strengths in student engagement, positive behaviour support processes and restorative practice along with the ability to lead intervention processes, case management of challenging behaviour and trauma informed practice knowledge would be beneficial.
