Gnowangerup is a small town with a diverse population just an hour and a half’s drive north of Albany in WA’s Great Southern region. That drive is through the magnificent Stirling Ranges – the state’s premier hiking destination. Prosperous surrounding farms drive the local economy along with thriving light industrial businesses. Social life is often centred around sports – in which we are very competitive, but there is also a thriving arts scene in the region.

Gnowangerup District High School currently supports the education of 140 students from Kindergarten to Year 10. We have specialist teachers for secondary subjects, and our primary students benefit from this with high quality Duty Other Than Teaching (DOTT) provision. We are committed to distributed leadership and take the wellbeing of our staff and students seriously. We’re at the start of a business planning cycle so several exciting changes will be underway during 2026.
