The Directorate
The Department of Education's Disability Reform Directorate has a key role in leading the Department's program of work that sets the direction and longer-term disability reform plan for public education. This will involve working across the agency and whole of government, with ongoing engagement and consultation with key stakeholders, to strengthen access and services across the public education system.
The Directorate has responsibility for progressing commitments made by the State Government, including but not limited to those related to the WA implemnentation Roadmap for the Disability Royal Commission, State Disability Strategy, and other reviews and reports.
The Role
In this role, you will support the Director, Disability Reform and work collaboratively within the team and across business units to progress the Disability Reform plan.
This will require you to use your experience and organisational skills to:
- prepare documents, spreadsheets, charts, and tables using advanced Microsoft tools
- provide administrative support for research activities, projects and initiatives to support he Director and team members
- assist in preparing project plans, reports, presentation materials, supporting materials, and monitoring systems, in accordance with Department policies and guidelines.
- schedule meetings with internal and external stakeholders
- manage incoming telephone calls and visitor enquiries, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure efficient service delivery
- prepare and distribute meeting agendas, take minutes, and follow up on action items as required.
- prepare, process, and delivering correspondence, drafting responses, and monitoring workflows to meet critical deadlines
You will also assist with financial tasks, including reconciling credit card expenditure and monitoring expenditure to support managerial staff.
Additionally, where required you will coordinate travel and accommodation arrangements, maintain records in compliance with the State Recordkeeping Act 2000.
