The School Curriculum and Standards Division provides administrative and secretariat services for, and implements the decisions of the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (the Authority). The Authority provides quality curriculum, assessment and standards to enable all Western Australian students to become confident, creative learners and active, informed citizens who contribute positively to society.
The Role
The Principal Consultant - Executive Services provides timely advice and support to the Manager, Finance to manage the Division’s budget using the Department’s and Authority’s financial and administration systems, policies and procedures to ensure human, physical and financial resources are efficiently and effectively utilised.
If successful, you will research, develop, review and implement corporate and finance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable legislation. Additionally, you will ensure that developments in legislation and policy are properly evaluated, implemented and maintained.
Within this role you will provide advice on complex matters to the Executive Group, Management Group and staff and provide analysis and interpretation in the area of policies applicable to the Authority.
To be eligible, you will hold a tertiary qualification in an accounting or related discipline and eligibility for membership of a professional accounting body.

- Demonstrated highly developed written communication skills, including experience in preparing reports, briefing papers and responses to Senior Executive and/or Ministerial/Parliamentary requests.
- Demonstrated highly developed analytical and conceptual skills to provide innovative solutions to complex problems.
