We are seeking to establish a pool of Mainstream Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Munglinup Primary School is located in a rural farming community between Esperance (108 km) and Ravensthorpe (80 km). The school caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 6, with its small size fostering a warm, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

The Role

We are seeking highly motivated Mainstream Education Assistants to work collaboratively with our friendly and supportive team. As a highly valued member of our Primary School, you would value the importance of establishing and developing positive relationships with students, staff, parents and caregivers. You would ideally possess an openness to change, display initiative and be solutions-focused, always ensuring that you are providing the best learning opportunities for our students.

Working primarily in the Early Childhood Education room, suitable applicants would collaborate with teachers to plan and implement engaging, challenging, and purposeful learning programs that are inclusive of all students. Suitable applicants would also provide supervision and support to our senior students during their School of Isolated and Distance Education (SIDE) lessons, ensuring they remain engaged and supported in their learning.

It would be highly regarded if you held high expectations and believed that every student can succeed and that every student is important. You would support the teacher in nurturing students’ academic, social and emotional growth.

Ideally, you would have experience in supporting synthetic phonics, oral language and social and emotional learning programs. Under the guidance of the teacher, you would assist in the delivery of planned educational programs, implement individual or small-group programs and provide valuable feedback to support student learning, including students identified as being at educational risk.

The role also involves assisting with the preparation and maintenance of the learning environment by organising and maintaining equipment, materials and resources, as well as ensuring safe and tidy storage following lessons and activities.

Suitable applicants should have strong communication skills and foster positive, respectful relationships with students, families, and staff, contributing to a caring and inclusive school culture. It is highly desirable that you are self-reflective, welcome feedback and are committed to ongoing professional growth.
