Carnamah District High School (DHS) is seeking an inspirational and dedicated Secondary Mathematics Teacher.

The Role

The successful applicant would ideally possess a sound knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum; be able to deliver content in an engaging manner; have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be a highly effective team member. The successful applicant would teach Mathematics to students from Year 7 to 10 with a range of ability levels. They will ideally have the capacity to provide a learning environment that is caring, motivational, and differentiated to cater for a variety of learning needs.

The successful applicant may be asked to teach some options classes and possibly some Primary classes. These classes are negotiable, depending on interests and skills. The successful applicant will need to be committed to developing positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and the wider community. They should be willing to participate in ongoing professional growth and development activities, support current whole school processes and be collegial, effective collaborators.

Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers

Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position.  At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
