This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2026

Yerecoin Primary School (PS) is seeking a motivated and passionate Early Childhood Teacher to teach a small group of students in Kindergarten to Year 2 in a multi-age classroom.

Yerecoin PS caters for children from Kindergarten to Year 6. Many students live on farms and we also have a culturally diverse student population. We provide a supportive, safe, nurturing and caring values-rich environment in which the teaching and learning process can thrive and students at this school regularly celebrate success.

The school is a dynamic learning community where teachers and parents work collaboratively to achieve a shared vision of excellence and students are motivated to strive to achieve their best and also to exceed their potential. The low student-to-staff ratio ensures individual attention and assistance, both in and out of the classroom. Classes are structured to ensure optimal outcomes for our students. The school offers an early childhood and upper primary class structure.

Yerecoin PS is situated in the Wheatbelt, 153 kilometres northeast of Perth. You can commute back to Perth in 90 minutes. Yerecoin is surrounded by farmland and has a great gift shop which sells fabulous takeaway meals and coffee and there is a tennis club in town. The subsidised housing is modern, spacious and located a few streets away from the school. Also located 20 minutes away in a larger town is an IGA, gym, swimming pool and other shopping / sporting facilities.

The Role

We are seeking a teacher who pursues excellence in teaching, has high expectations, has good interpersonal skills, who displays great professionalism and who is willing to learn how to deliver differentiated literacy and numeracy programs. You should also have the ability to work in a team environment. Ideally, you will have experience teaching students with special needs, and having a strong Information Technology (IT) skills would be highly regarded.

You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with our enthusiastic and capable staff who consistently make admirable use of excellent resources and strong community links to deliver an engaging and varied curriculum in a supportive and safe environment. Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers

Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
