The Role

Paraburdoo PS is seeking an innovative, relational and future-focused Deputy Principal who is committed to system expectations and to nurturing the whole child. The successful applicant will ideally demonstrate a strong capacity to build positive relationships and work effectively with staff, students, parents/carers and the wider Paraburdoo community. At Paraburdoo PS, our culture is grounded in kindness, high expectations and collective responsibility, supported by strong middle leadership coaching teams. Paraburdoo PS has a strong commitment to inclusive education and wellbeing. This Deputy Principal role holds significant Student Services responsibilities, leading whole-school approaches that support students with complex needs, disabilities and diverse learning styles. Working through our developing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) framework, the Deputy Principal will guide staff to embed trauma-informed, culturally responsive and inclusive practices in every classroom.

The Deputy Principal supports teachers to implement adjustments and differentiated strategies so that all students, including those with disability, can learn successfully.

A central part of the role is working closely with families, external agencies and community partners to strengthen student engagement. This includes involvement in programs such as Polly Framer Follow the Dream and local cultural initiatives that enhance outcomes for Aboriginal students.
