The Department’s Statewide Service Division delivers tiered, connected services and support to schools aligned with system strategies and priorities.
The division encompasses both school and system - facing service delivery models - providing services and support to schools to enable student achievement, with a focus on those students and schools that need it most, while also contributing to strategy and policy development.
As manager, Capability Support within the Service Design and Support directorate, you will inform and contribute to the directorate’s purpose of providing strategy, policy and program oversight and operational support to the division.
The Role
The Service Design and Support Directorate is seeking a highlighted motivated and skilled manager to lead the Capability Support branch within Statewide Services.
As Manager, you will lead a branch that contributes to the strategic planning, development and provision of educational technologies, online tools and services to support schools, teachers and students in WA public schools. The role includes leading the development, implementation and policy advice for online teaching and learning systems in schools, and for staff professional learning, managing processes for the production and publication of digital content, and providing strategic oversight and advice for the delivery of Statewide Services ICT systems.
The Manager, Capability Support will demonstrate:
- agility and innovation in leading diverse functions across the branch and directorate
- proven leadership in identifying and executing improvement opportunities
- strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate and influence stakeholders
- expertise in contemporary educational technologies, including staff development and student online safety.
The Manager, Capability Support will:
- lead your team to deliver high-quality support across schools and the system, maintaining strong relationships with the ICT division
- ensure consistent project management and risk assessment practices
- provide strategic advice and recommendations to optimise service delivery
- drive initiatives and projects aligned with Department priorities
- collaborate across teams to deliver a connected, coherent service model.
- analyse trends to identify areas for improvement.
As an effective leader, you will lead the branch operations in accordance with the Department’s strategic directions, policies and relevant legislation.

Eligibility

- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
