This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2026

Shorehaven Primary School (PS) is very proud of the strong community culture that we have established in such a short space of time since opening in 2022.

Being the first primary school of its kind in Western Australia, students have access to amazing facilities that include two double storey teaching blocks, a large undercover area, and sweeping open spaces for our students to play in.

The Role

The successful applicant will assist teaching staff in the delivery of planned education programs and in promoting an inclusive learning environment for the student. They would also provide feedback when required an education and therapy programs and participate in the evaluation process relating to the student’s process. The Education Assistant - Braille, would assist with the general health and well-being of the student and help facilitate inclusion into the school environment.

They would also facilitate communication between the student and other staff. The successful applicant would also be required to translate brail to text, prepare appropriate materials and assist the student to complete tasks requiring problem solving, decision making and choosing methods and processes to successfully achieve outcomes.

Applicants without experience in the specific role Education Assistant- Braille are encouraged to apply if interested in completing additional accredited training/courses in Braille and use of Braille machines.

    • Demonstrated well developed organisational skills and ability to contribute to a professional team to develop and deliver an effective education program.
    • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of issues relevant to blind or vision impaired students.
