Located in the Goldfields-Esperance region, north of Kalgoorlie, Leonora DHS caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 12. Leonora DHS has a long history of supporting the local community by embracing the Cultural diversity, that is Leonora. With 112 student enrolments, 79% being of Aboriginal heritage, the school embeds the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework throughout the curriculum.

The Role

Leonora DHS is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Physical Education Teacher. The successful applicant will teach Year 1 to 12 Health and  Physical education classes, small number of students. There are 2 high school classes (Year 7 to 8 class and a 9 to 12 class).

The successful applicant should possess high standards of professionalism and will ideally work collaboratively with the Specialist Team. Ideally, you will plan and implement a high standard of health and physical education instruction and events for Leonora students. On-Country Learning Experience and planning curriculum is highly recommended.

A sound understanding of the WA Curriculum and a knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support is also desirable.

You would support the development of team skills through interschool event training, leading up to interschool carnivals. The successful applicant should work with our leadership team to plan and lead carnivals, including athletics and cross country, and interschool winter, swimming carnivals.
