About the Role

  • Lead the culinary transformation of the Lemon Tree Café, delivering nutrition-forward, macro-balanced meals for athletes, staff, and the wider community.
  • Drive menu innovation, including high-protein, nut-free, low-carb options, and functional drinks, aligned with the latest in sports nutrition for our café.
  • Oversee premium catering for the green room and high-profile clients, ensuring tailored, exceptional service.
  • Maximise spend per head at events through creative menu design, operational efficiency, and a passion for exceeding guest expectations.
  • Manage kitchens for large-scale event catering (1,500–20,000 guests), from bespoke functions to stadium-wide experiences.
  • Foster a high-performing, collaborative kitchen culture focused on teamwork, continuous development, and compliance with health, safety, and food safety standards.
  • Champion sustainability through responsible sourcing, waste reduction, and eco-friendly packaging.
  • Play a key role in the ongoing evolution of our café and event offerings, supporting our mission to create memorable moments for every patron and client.

We currently have one permanent, full-time position available.

Whilst the position will be based at Perth High Performance Centre in Mount Claremont, mobility may be required between the portfolio of facilities.

The position attracts the following shift penalties and additional leave:

  • 20% loading on rostered shifts commencing prior to 6am or finishing after 8:30pm or weekend shifts
  • 30% loading on shifts finishing on or after midnight
  • 1-week additional leave for employees working more than 12 Sundays per calendar year
  • Remuneration package up to $112,467.43 (Inclusive commuted overtime allowance)

About the Person

  • Proven experience managing high-volume kitchens, menu planning, purchasing, stock control, and staff supervision.
  • A passion for great food, innovation, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • Strong understanding of cost control, profit maximisation, and achieving key financial targets.
  • Implement and monitor wage cost controls, driving staffing efficiencies to ensure optimal resource allocation and alignment with financial targets
  • Ability to inspire and develop a diverse team, fostering a culture of respect, growth, and excellence.
  • Commitment to compliance, safety, and the highest standards of food quality.
  • Trade qualification as a Chef (Cert III or IV), HACCP Food Safety Supervisor Certification and Responsible Service of Alcohol or able to obtain.
