We are seeking to establish a pool of School Systems Support Officers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year and up to the end of Term 4, 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Perth Modern School, a proud public school, is Western Australia's only fully selective school for academically gifted students in Years 7 to 12. The school honours rich traditions, empowers those present and shapes the future for gifted and talented learners and leaders.
Staff emphasise the importance of connection and relationships in the process of listening, thinking and learning together. We partner with students, families, carers, and alumni, to successfully navigate change and improve student outcomes; a community where everyone belongs. In the early years, this means ensuring every student is known and understood, their needs and unique potential nurtured. As students progress, they are supported as self-motivated learners and leaders who are; courageous, curious, compassionate, committed and collaborative, encouraged to pursue their dreams, and resourced to achieve both academic excellence and positive wellbeing.

The Role
Perth Modern School is seeking a pool of innovative and passionate School Systems Support Officers (SSSO) to join our school community. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a forward-thinking team of allied professionals dedicated to delivering a whole-school approach to gifted and talented education.
As a School Systems Support Officer, you would support the Principal, Deputy Principals, and teaching staff in a range of administrative and operational areas. Your role may include coordinating teacher and school relief processes, overseeing academic reporting, and maintaining key school databases. You would be responsible for ensuring data integrity, producing timely reports, and supporting the rollout of updates across systems. The position may also include coordinating examination rosters, venues, and supervision, managing student and teacher timetables while providing data for both internal and external reporting requirements, including course-specific and national assessments. The school offers five languages for student enrolment and you will extract and provide system data that supports accurate enrolment processes. Using SRMS and SIRS fulfills our commitments to meet the deadlines set by the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (the Authority) in a timely manner.
To be successful in this role, you should bring strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, a high level of organisation, and the ability to meet deadlines and problem-solve effectively. You should be available to commence your workday at 7:00am and be comfortable working in a fast-paced and collaborative school environment. The ideal applicants will ideally display the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Experience with a range of school systems will be highly regarded, including SIRS, SRMS, Compass, SSO (Subject Selection Onlie) SIS Integris (Cover and Timetabling), Microsoft 365, Reporting to Parents (RTP), and broader school ICT platforms. Suitable applicants should also display a proactive approach to exploring, adopting, and adapting to new systems as required.
If you are enthusiastic about education, thrive on working in a supportive and innovative environment, and are ready to play a vital role in school operations, we encourage you to apply and become part of a school that values excellence, integrity, and collaboration.
