About the Program: Health Support Services (HSS) provides value for money corporate support services to WA Health through skilled and motivated people. This includes delivering business focused financial, ICT, supply and workforce services within an environment of standardised systems and processes. Partnering with client agencies and other stakeholders, HSS operates within a customer focussed service culture designed to complement client agency corporate service operations. About the area: Within the Hospital Administration Systems Area in Health Support Services, we provide support for several applications, some of which are complex and highly integrated. Some of the applications supported include, web based Patient Administration Support (webPAS), Emergency Department Information System (EDIS), Clinical Codefinder and Datix Clinical Incident Management (CIMS).

Position Profile: We are seeking an enthusiastic and suitably experienced applicant for the role of Senior Technical Application Administrator to join the Health Support Services Hospital Administration Systems Area, with experience in:

  • Oracle, Linux, SQL Server and Windows Server, within the context of problem-solving, prioritisation, teamwork, leadership and mentorship, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
  • Applications support for enterprise applications and systems (preferrable relating to patient flow and hospital administration).
  • Leading technical development, maintenance, and support of critical enterprise applications.
  • Technical administration of applications (bespoke and COTS) across all tiers of application architecture (web, application, and database) ensuring operational delivery expectations, service stability and service performance targets are maintained.
  • Utilising tools and technologies such as ITSM platforms, SQL, scripting and reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with hosting and platforms i.e. on premise, cloud and virtualization.
  • Leveraging industry standards, and best practices, to optimise technical delivery and quality of solutions.

The Senior Technical Application Administrator is responsible for:

  • Providing expert application-level DBA skills to support WA health’s current corporate ICT solutions.
  • Development, testing, implementation and support of corporate ICT solutions to meet WA Health’s future needs.
  • Relationship management with relevant stakeholders including customers, vendor-partners, business and industry.
