Wangkatjungka Remote Community School (RCS) was opened in 1962 as Christmas Creek School. Parts of the original school still remain and are highly valued by the school and the community. In 1990, the name of the school changed to Wangkatjungka RCS. Our communities play an active part in school life at Wangkatjungka RCS, ensuring the students are provided with the best, most culturally sensitive learning environment.
Wangkatjungka RCS is located in a remote Aboriginal community in the Kimberley region, approximately 110 km from the nearest town centre, Fitzroy Crossing, including travel 20 km of unsealed road. Three stations; Beefwood Park Station, Bulka Station and Christmas Creek Station surround the Wangkatjungka Community.

The Role
Wangkatjungka RCS is seeking an experienced administrator who will work closely with the Principal and members of the administration team to provide educational leadership in the school and the community by developing and promoting the school vision and facilitating workforce effectiveness.
The successful applicant should be a highly effective leader with outstanding interpersonal skills and professional practice firmly grounded in positive support practices. We are ideally seeking a team member with a strong understanding of curriculum, positive behaviour support policies and procedures, as well as proven efficacy in building positive and professional relationships across the school community.
The successful applicant should display capacity in strategic planning and utilise effective change management strategies in leading the school community to accept and develop opportunities for improved services and outcomes for students. This includes the use of evidence-based programs that focus on improving literacy and numeracy outcomes and building the social and emotional capacity of the students.
