About the team/business unit
The Spatial program is designed to deliver a whole of government Advanced Spatial Digital Twin for the State. It will enable agencies to access, share and use spatial and non-spatial data with advanced capabilities for visualisation, analytics, predictive modelling, and digital workflows, to improve collaboration and decision making across government. The program is complex and will be delivered in a dynamic and fast-paced project environment, working with key agencies across the sector to deliver the outcomes needed for the State.

About the role
The Data Management Principal is responsible for the establishment and implementation of a Whole of Government Data Management Framework (DMF). The DMF is a critical enabler for Spatial WA and will be used by agencies to develop standards, procedures and best practice guidelines to support the management of Spatial and non-spatial data as it is required for decision making. The role will be responsible for providing direction, oversight and guidance to several data analysts that are positioned at partner agencies within the Spatial WA Program to ensure consistency of data management is established and support research, testing and development of analytical processes to best leverage spatial and non-spatial data to support Government priorities.

Role Requirements
To be successful in this role, please demonstrate:
- Considerable experience in data governance and management.
- Experience in implementing data management practices, working with geospatial data, formats and services supporting the delivery of geospatial solutions for complex or multi agency environments.
- Strong presentation and communication skills to independently work with stakeholders and explore complex challenges while designing solutions to these challenges
Desirables
- A tertiary qualification in spatial sciences or another relevant discipline
- Experience in and ability to undertake business process modelling
- Experience working with 3D geospatial data, data formats, and services
