We are seeking to establish a pool of K-6 Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Marangaroo Primary School (PS) currently has an enrolment of 185 students and is host to a Specialist Learning Program for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (SLP-ASD) which caters for up to 25 students. Situated on spacious grounds, most classrooms are ‘double classrooms’ with a large activity area that can be used for learning activities. Marangaroo PS is proud to be home to families and students from a range of diverse backgrounds and seeks to create a vibrant and welcoming environment.

Having recently undergone a Public School Review, Marangaroo PS is at the beginning of an exciting opportunity to drive change within the school and is seeking quality, motivated teaching staff to join us on this journey.

The Role

Marangaroo PS is seeking collaborative and enthusiastic teaching professionals with the capacity to develop a culture of continuous improvement in which a common, consistent approach to teaching and learning underlies everything. Suitable applicants with knowledge and experience with implementing explicit instruction into their teaching program, UFLI, Heggerty Phonemic Awareness and Synthetic Phonic approaches will be highly regarded but are not essential. Suitable applicants should ideally reflect on the impact of their teaching through effective data literacy skills and will use this to drive improvement within their classroom and will ideally show an ability to be flexible and adaptable in their programming.

A commitment to implementing whole school curriculum policies should be evident, displaying a capacity to be attuned to the individual needs of students, as will an authentic ability to provide an inclusive, fair and safe classroom. Underpinning these approaches is a clear recognition that learning outcomes and opportunities are maximised when the ‘Whole Child’ is at the heart of our beliefs.

Suitable applicants should ideally possess excellent communication skills and will use this to adeptly engage families and the school community to develop a sense of belonging and connectedness in which students thrive.

Marangaroo PS uses Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) as an approach to managing behaviour, and suitable applicants should display strength in utilising low key skills such as those from the Classroom Management Strategies (CMS) approach.

Suitable applicants should reflect an understanding and ability to apply the inclusive principals and beliefs of the SLP-ASD as students will regularly move between their homeroom and mainstream class. Successful applicants should display a capacity to cater for the needs of the students within the SLP-ASD and the wider school community. Applicants with a specific interest in teaching in the SLP-ASD are encouraged to state this within their application in case vacancies arise.
