The Role
The Accommodation and Administration Officer facilitates international student access to rental accommodation, including tenancy agreements, whilst liaising with accommodation providers in relation to accessing placements. The officer provides students with advice, guidance and support regarding accommodation issues including dispute resolution with real estate agents. In addition, they liaise with staff about individual student progress and attendance related to accommodation issues whilst facilitating the home stay program. The role incorporates interviewing and evaluating prospective providers including property inspection, confirming legal eligibility, facilitating student inspection of home stays, negotiating with stakeholders to seek relocation where necessary, and managing regular communications with home stay providers regarding student progress and welfare issues.
The Accommodation and Administration Officer refers students for counselling on behavioural issues where necessary, provides advice and information on community programs and organisations and facilitates orientation for the students, as well as interviewing nominated guardians.
The officer facilitates enrolment procedures including liaising with international agents to confirm student information and collating and sending pre-departure documents for international students. These procedures include providing accommodation and travel related administrative support for orientation events, maintaining the international student database, and maintaining relationships with relevant industry bodies and providers.
The Accommodation and Administration Officer provides training and support to international office staff whilst providing administrative support for international and domestic students, staff and external stakeholders.
The officer undertakes reception duties, including responding to enquiries and requests for information from prospective and existing students, parents and education agents, and maintains student enrolment data, timetables and attendance.
The officer provides clerical support for special projects across college teams as business needs arise.
