We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistants - Special Needs for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Marangaroo Primary School (PS) currently has an enrolment of 190 students and is host to a Specialist Learning Program for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (SLP-ASD) which caters for up to 25 students.
We take a whole child approach to learning and are constantly developing ways to provide meaningful feedback to our families and provide access to relevant services. Our current focus is on developing strong community partnerships to ensure the seamless delivery of developmental services such as speech and language. We continue to enhance our strong expertise around providing evidence-based instruction for children with special needs.
We are proud to be a multi-cultural school and value the variety of backgrounds which our children bring to the classroom. Our aim is to work with our community to create a vibrant and welcoming school. By developing a mutually respectful and supportive relationship with our families and the wider community we believe that anything is possible.
Marangaroo PS is a proudly inclusive school and expertise with students at educational risk would prove beneficial. Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and Classroom Management Strategies (CMS) Training and/or knowledge would also be an advantage.
Having just participated in the Public School Review process, Marangaroo is at the beginning of an exciting opportunity to drive change with the school, and is seeking quality, motivated Education Assistants to join us on this journey.

The Role
Suitable applicants may be working within the Specialist Learning Program – Autism Spectrum Disorder (SLP-ASD) and/or in the mainstream setting supporting students with varied needs to achieve their goals. Education Assistants at Marangaroo PS will apply evidence-based strategies to implement individual learning plans in a highly individualised environment. You will ideally be able to establish and maintain strong relationships with students, staff, families and external providers within the community. Suitable applicants will ideally display a proven ability to collaborate with and support classroom teachers to maximise academic, social-emotional and behavioural successes with a focus on developing the ‘Whole Child’ based on their individual needs.
