About the Role
The successful applicant will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a school culture that promotes positive relationships between students and between students and staff, and engaging parents and the wider community in the educational work of the school.
Principals are responsible for being innovative and creative in the establishment of systems and structures to foster academic development and improvements in social and emotional development for students, as well as engaging a diverse school community in the educational programs of the school.
Principals possess a commitment to continuous school improvement and development of the instructional program, particularly the pedagogy of beginning teachers, and building networks with other agencies, other schools, and services in the community to benefit school programs.
About Broomehill Primary School
Broomehill Primary School (PS) is a small, community-oriented school located in the picturesque Great Southern region of Western Australia, approximately 20 kilometres south of Katanning and 150 kilometres north of Albany. The school currently enrols 49 students from Kindergarten to Year 6 and is situated within the Wheatbelt Education Region. Broomehill PS is a member of both the Level 3 Schools South Network and the Great Southern Schools Network, fostering cross regional collaboration and professional learning. Set amidst natural bushland, the school provides a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every child is known, valued and supported to succeed.
The school operates two multi-age classrooms, Kindergarten to Year 2 and Years 3 to 6, supported by a team of highly skilled and dedicated educators. Specialist instruction is delivered in the areas of the Arts, Italian, Health and Physical Education, and Design and Technology. Staff engage in targeted professional learning to strengthen evidence-based teaching practices across key learning areas, supporting consistent instructional approaches aligned to whole school priorities. Intervention programs and differentiated curriculum planning ensure that individual learning needs are identified and supported.
Broomehill PS is proud of its strong relationships with families and the broader community. The school is supported by an active P&C Association and School Council, who contribute meaningfully to school planning and improvement.
