
Newton Moore Education Support Centre (ESC) are seeking to establish a pool of School Officers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role
A School Officer plays a key role in supporting the daily administrative and financial operations of a school. They assist the Manager Corporate Services with financial tasks such as invoice processing, GST coding and reconciliation. Their responsibilities also include supporting month-end procedures, financial planning, asset management, and coordinating the use and maintenance of school facilities. They help maintain accurate financial and student records and contribute to the development and publication of school materials.
In addition, School Officers support staff management by assisting with the induction of new administrative staff, coordinating relief coverage, and supervising work experience students. They also provide advice on travel and allowances, manage databases and information systems (including timetabling), and handle student enrolment documentation. A strong focus is placed on maintaining confidentiality and building effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure the smooth running of school operations.
Suitable applicants will aid the Manager Corporate Services and other members of Newton Moore ESC administration team with maintaining the school databases, records, and information management systems to ensure they are accurate and up to date. They may also help manage the financial and operational aspects of our school.
Suitable applicants should ideally model effective and quality customer and administrative support service delivery and use excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work in collaboration with the administration team, school support staff, our school community and teaching staff. A School Officer should have the skills to competently work independently without supervision or direction however the ability to work in a team environment is essential.
