The Role
You will be an integral part of the English learning area, working collaboratively to support student achievement and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
In this role, the successful applicant should ideally deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that cater to the needs of a diverse student cohort, using evidence-based and high-impact teaching strategies to support student learning and growth. A strong understanding of the English curriculum is highly regarded, with the ability to teach at the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) level highly regarded. They should build positive, supportive relationships with students and inspire a genuine passion for learning. A commitment to ongoing reflection and refinement of teaching practice is expected to ensure continuous improvement and professional growth. The successful applicant will also contribute actively to the English learning area through collaboration and the sharing of best practice.
About the School
Narrogin SHS is a genuine comprehensive educational institution on a whole school improvement journey encompassing Fogarty EDvance, National School Improvement and Teaching for Impact. Our Business plan commenced in 2024 with a clear direction based on student outcomes. Teachers and School Administrators employed at Narrogin Senior High School in 2025 are eligible to receive a temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of $2 500 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.
The temporary ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers
Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
