There are eight Regional Education Offices and various Local Education Offices in the State. These are staffed as determined by the Director of Education in accordance with local context and needs.
Staff in Regional and Local Education Offices are responsible for supporting schools in their regions by promoting system initiatives and providing support to enhance educational outcomes of students in public schools.
The Role
The Coordinator Regional Operations provides accurate, high-level and strategic advice to support the Director of Education, as well as schools and their communities across the region. The Kimberley Education Region comprises of 23 public schools, ranging from urban-style environments to smaller settings in remote communities, offering a diverse and enriching education landscape.
The Coordinator Regional Operations helps implement a culturally responsive, customer-service focus in the regional office to effectively and efficiently handle enquiries, concerns and complaints, relating to the regional office, schools or the Department in general. Highly developed interpersonal skills are essential to the role, as is a willingness to respond and generate possible resolutions to complex issues.
The Coordinator Regional Operations provides a brokerage service that supports communications with schools and central office. This involves delivering timely, high-quality correspondence, including briefings and reports, including Ministerial and executive communications.
The Kimberley Education Region supports the Department’s priorities in Western Australia and commits to delivering, through schools and services, a full and engaging standard of public education, supportive of students, teachers and parents. In the Kimberley region, schools serve as pivotal hubs within communities, fostering close-knit relationships and collaboration to ensure positive student outcomes.
The successful applicant will contribute to the implementation of system-wide strategies and programs that build school capacity, cultural responsiveness and improve student outcomes.
