The Role
In collaboration with the Principal and Leadership team, the Deputy Principal provides educational and strategic leadership in the school by developing and promoting the school’s vision, business plan and strategic direction. Successful applicants will also contribute to the delivery of services across the Statewide Speech and Language Service through participative decision-making, including assisting in developing policy, and establishing and maintaining systems.
PLDS accepts students from our specific catchment area within the Peel Region and is located across four sites where we share facilities with co-located primary schools enabling PLDS students and their families to integrate with our host school communities. Suitable applicants from this pool may be required to work at any one of the Peel campuses currently located at Mandurah Primary School, Bungaree Primary School, Pinjarra Primary School and Rockingham Lakes Primary School.
We are ideally seeking an individual who has effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and be able to communicate respectfully, openly, and honestly with staff, students and the school community. They should use professional knowledge and understanding to promote teaching and learning whilst fostering the development of a responsive and inclusive school-based curriculum. Knowledge of supporting Students at Educational Risk would be highly desirable. Suitable applicants will ideally provide strategic direction for staff and foster a culture of improvement and high expectations through professional performance, coaching and mentoring.
As an Independent Public School (IPS), PLDS sets realistic, achievable milestones as outlined in our business plan to ensure students receive high quality education to help them achieve their full potential. Our focus reflects the school's motto 'Inspire, Educate, Achieve'.
