Applicants from the previous process IPS/SS955607 who were assessed as suitable are not required to reapply.

We are seeking to establish a pool of Special Needs Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Butler College opened in January 2013 as an inclusive public school for secondary students in Perth's northern suburbs. The College values are at the heart of our culture: Knowledge, Integrity and Respect.

A key aspect of Butler College is our endorsed Education Support Program. Our facility supports 80 students with special educational and medical needs. Our facilities include a hydrotherapy pool and a range of sensory spaces. As an integrated site, our students benefit from high levels of expertise and support and the ability to integrate with other students where appropriate.

Our vision is to be a College where everyone belongs, grows and succeeds and we are seeking candidates who can help us deliver that environment.

The Role

You would be working as part of a large team to meet the varied needs of our students. This could involve supporting a student and classroom teacher in a mainstream environment or working in a more specialised environment without our Education Support program.

You will ideally work closely with teachers to deliver planned education programs and will be responsible for implementing individual student or small group programs or demonstrations. Additionally, you should provide feedback on education and therapy programs and will participate in the evaluation process.

This pool is to recruit for positions both within our Endorsed Education Support Program and supporting students in the mainstream school setting.

This is a rewarding role that will allow you to make a real difference in the lives of students with special needs. If you are passionate about making a difference, apply today and join our team of dedicated educators.
