This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 3, 2025

Byford Secondary College (SC) is a newer school in Perth’s southern suburbs. We have first class facilities to support high quality teaching and learning programs in our college. Located approximately 30 kilometres from the Perth CBD, our College caters for 1500 students in Years 7 through to 12. We offer a unique setting to many other metropolitan schools, with a blend of urban and rural students; this creates a vibrant mix of students and staff within the college community.

The Role

Byford SC is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, creative Media Arts teacher to join our collaborative and innovative Arts team. An ability to teach English or another subject would be advantageous and would initially be a part of the teaching load.

The successful applicant will ideally have experience in delivering a vibrant Media Arts programme from Years 7 to 12. Ideally, you should be a committed, professional and collaborative Arts Teacher. Applicants with excellent interpersonal and communication skills are highly desired as those attributes are integral to developing effective relationships with students, staff, and parents. The ability and/or willingness to teacher Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) Media Production and Analysis and Certificate II Creative Industries would be highly regarded.

At Byford SC, we are seeking a person who is collaborative and will be able to promote Media Arts within the school and broader community. Ideally, you will be committed to professional development and continuous improvement to facilitate a best-practice approach towards teaching and learning whilst providing a rich, evidence-based curriculum.

The Arts building at Byford SC contains state-of-the-art equipment to deliver the Media Arts curriculum, including a TV studio, podcasting room and setup, DSLR cameras and other accessories such as gimbals. The equipment and space is an excellent starting point for any committed and innovative Media Arts teacher to promote engagement and creative programming in their classes.
