We are seeking to establish a pool of Home Economic Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2026 Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role

The role of the Home Economics Assistant will include assisting teachers in the delivery of planned educational programs through the organisation of required resources and the learning environment by maintaining equipment, materials and resources for use in both Food and Child Development classes. You will also undertake regular cleaning activities as directed. Computer literacy is highly desirable.

As the Home Economics Assistant, the suitable applicants should have a proactive, positive approach to the role and will ideally be able to work autonomously as well as part of a team. Suitable applicants should be able to prioritise tasks well, follow processes and protocols required by the learning area, such as food hygiene and safety protocols when preparing food for practical classes and organising the food rooms. The ability to use initiative, organisational skills and work efficiently to complete tasks is highly desirable.
