About the position
AGWA is seeking a professional photographer with demonstrated experience of photographing two- and three-dimensional works of art to join the Gallery’s in-house digitisation team. The Collections Photographer will be responsible for the photography of works of art in the State Art Collection, which can be both routine and complex. This important role is also responsible for the management and timely delivery of image files in Digital Asset Management (DAM) compatible file formats for AGWA’s online uses.
The Art Gallery of Western Australia (AGWA) is the State’s premier Art Museum. Situated in the heart of Perth’s Cultural Centre, the Main and Centenary Galleries house the State Art Collection of over 18,800 works by renowned local and international artists from the 1800’s to today, including approximately 3,000 Aboriginal works.

Conditions
This is a part time, 12 month contract vacancy.
A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate be required prior to commencement of employment, as per the Department’s Police Record Screening Policy.
Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, applicants for this position may be considered for ‘similar’ vacancies within the Culture and Arts Portfolio and/or the wider public sector which arise within a reasonable period of time. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Future vacancies may be considered – permanent and fixed term, part time and full time.
